2 killed in head-on crash involving car, dump truck
Two people were killed Friday afternoon in east-central Minnesota in a head-on collision involving a car and a dump truck.
According to the State Patrol, two young adults were traveling in a Saturn Ion eastbound on Hwy. 8 in Lindstrom when the driver weaved across the center line and then back into eastbound lane and struck a Ford F-150, then "jerked back into the westbound lanes" and collided head-on with a dump truck.
The crash happened on Hwy. 8 near Lincoln Road, the State Patrol said.
Both occupants of the Saturn Ion were killed. The driver has been identified as 20-year-old Heather Lee Williamson, of Centuria, Wisconsin, and the passenger is ID'd as 25-year-old Austin Tyler Eckard, of North Branch.
The driver of the dump truck wasn't injured, nor were the driver and passenger in the Ford F-150.
Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. No further information has been provided.
