2 men impersonating police sexually assault woman in her home
A woman in northern Minnesota was sexually assaulted by two men who broke into her home while posing as police officers.
The Pequot Lakes Police Department says the home invasion happened in the 3700 block of County Road 168 at 9 p.m. Sunday.
The men identified themselves as police officers before forcing their way into the woman's home, making multiple threats and then sexually assaulting her.
They had gone to the property with the intention of assaulting the male homeowner, police say, but he fled when the men arrived.
Two male suspects were later arrested in Virginia, Minnesota, a 39-year-old and a 28-year-old, both of Pequot Lakes.
They are facing charges of 1st-degree burglary and 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct.
