Two people are dead after being struck by a vehicle in Roseville on Thursday evening.

According to Roseville Police Department, the crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. at Larpenteur Avenue and Woodbridge Court, where a man and a woman were hit by a vehicle.

An investigation revealed that a 72-year-old man was driving westbound on Larpenteur Avenue from Rice Street, and he hit the two pedestrians as they were crossing the street. The driver immediately pulled over and was cooperative with police.

Investigators are trying to find out if alcohol factored in the collision and a request for a search warrant has been filed in an attempt to take a blood sample from the driver.

Larpenteur Avenue is expected to be closed in the area of the crash for several hours while the Minnesota State Patrol Crash Reconstruction Specialists investigate.
