Authorities in Washington County are investigating a small plane crash that left two people injured Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 3:00 p.m. in a cornfield in Lake Elmo, just after the pilot and a passenger took off from the nearby Lake Elmo Airport.
According to a news release from the local fire department, first responders found the crash with the help of witnesses about 200 yards north of Upper 33rd St N.
They put out a fire at the scene and pulled out the plane's two occupants, both of whom suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
As of this writing, it's not clear what may have caused the crash.
