Multiple reports of a half-naked burglar is cause for concern for women living near St. Cloud State University.

According to Tri-County Crime Stoppers, the latest incident happened at 7:30 a.m. Monday on the 700 block of 7th Avenue South in St. Cloud. The 911 caller reported a burglary and attempted sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman.

The victim told police that she woke up to a man in her bedroom who was naked from the waist down. The man grabbed her by the ankles but fled the scene when she screamed and pushed the intruder away.

Tri-County Crime Stoppers says the suspect is described as a mixed-race man with darker skin. It's believed that he's in his 20s, is approximately 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8 with very short hair, a lean build and possibly some facial hair on his chin.

The incident is similar to one reported on the same block Oct. 19, when police received a 911 call at 6:06 a.m. from a woman reporting a naked man was in her bedroom, exposing and touching himself sexually, according to Crime Stoppers.

The victim described that suspect as a 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 mixed-race man with a "beer belly," possibly 30-40 years old with short or shaved hair, facial hair along the jaw line, large lips and a hairy chest.

"There are enough similarities between the two incidents that we are investigating them together and are considering the potential that it could be the same suspect," St. Cloud Police Department Assistant Chief Jeffrey Oxton tells Bring Me The News.
