2 teens shot while at St. Paul community center playground

No arrests have been made.

Two teenagers, ages 14 and 16, were shot while at a playground at the Frogtown Community Center in St. Paul Thursday evening.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers were called to the playground on the 600 block of Galtier Street at about 8:35 p.m. for a report of a juvenile who was shot.

Officers located the victim, a 14-year-old boy, in the street. He'd been struck in the foot and leg, and was taken to the hospital to be treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after, a 16-year-old boy was dropped off at Regions Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. He'd also been shot while at the playground.

Witnesses reported seeing a male shooter flee the scene on foot. Police set up a perimeter and searched for him but did not locate him.

Police noted both victims are uncooperative, and no arrests have been made.

Police did find five casings and an extended magazine at the scene.

The community center was closed at the time of the shooting.
