2-ton smoker stolen from Twin Cities chef Thomas Boemer
Thieves have stolen a precious, two-ton smoker belonging to celebrated Twin Cities chef Thomas Boemer.
Boemer, the chef behind fried chicken joint in south Minneapolis and St. Paul, and Revival Smoked Meats at Keg and Case in St. Paul, shared the devastating news that his custom-made smoker had been stolen.
"My beloved Lang 108 was stolen out of our parking lot!!" he posted on Instagram, with the smoker taken from the lot outside of Boemer's former Corner Table eatery at 4537 Nicollet Ave.
"My Lang has seen hundreds of hours of cooking and event for my neighbors, friends, and our Revival family," he posted. "This is just heartbreaking.....I have used this smoker at all the Art a Whirls, Open Streets, countless charity events, and recently to do bbq rib dinners for pickup during COVID."
He told the Star Tribune that the custom-made smoker was "my most prized possession," and that he bought it three years ago from Georgia-based Lang BBQ Smokers, who made it by hand to Boemer's own specifications.
He has asked anyone with information or who has seen such a smoker to call the police.
