A 2-year-old who was riding on her aunt's lap when she was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash last week in Kandiyohi County has been identified.
Myra Ahrenholz, of Prinsburg, was identified in an obituary as the young girl who was killed in the crash that happened just after 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 near 225th Avenue Southwest in Roseland Township.
Myra was riding on the lap of her aunt, a 23-year-old Clara City woman, when the vehicle they were in lost control on "substantially loose gravel" and rolled into the ditch, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office said last week.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered "serious injuries," while Myra was airlifted to Children's Hospital, but the sheriff's office said she died en route.
According to Myra's obituary, she died from injuries sustained in a "farm accident." The sheriff's office has not said what type of vehicle they were riding in.
A funeral service for Myra is planned for Wednesday at the CMCS outdoor amphitheater in Prinsburg, with a visitation scheduled for Tuesday evening at the same place, her obituary says.
