20-year-old woman dies in crash with semi at Hwy. 212 in Carver County

The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle was struck by a semi in Carver County on Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that the woman was driving a 2006 Chevy HHR northbound on County Road 51, stopped at a stop sign at Hwy. 212 and was struck by a Mack semi tractor as she crossed the intersection.

The woman, who has been identified as Amanda Nicole Green, of Shakopee, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe account has been started in Green's name with a goal of raising $7,000 to help pay for funeral expenses.

The GoFundMe was created by her stepfather, who says he only married Green's mother 9 days prior to her death. He notes that her mother has not been able to see Green's body yet because she is registered as an organ donor.

"My heart breaks for my wife and ask any willing to listen...... Please help me so that she can see her daughter one more time," he writes.

The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
