A drug bust at two different Twin Cities homes last week turned up 20 pounds of methamphetamine, 2 pounds of cocaine and $29,000 in cash.
The case, being worked by the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force out of Kandiyohi County, involved the distribution of methamphetamine into the task force's service area, coming from a supplier in the Twin Cities, according to a task force news release.
As part of the investigation, agents with the task force agreed to purchase 3 pounds of methamphetamine from the supplier, identified as a 41-year-old from Mexico who in 2012 had been convicted on controlled substance charges.
On June 4, the task force executed search warrants at two Twin Cities homes, and in the process arrested the suspect. The searches turned up the 22 pounds of drugs and thousands in cash, which the task force seized.
The suspect is in custody, awaiting federal drug charges, according to the task force.
