22-year-old missing in Wisconsin found dead in crashed truck
A 22-year-old Cumberland, Wisconsin, man who was reported missing more than a week ago has been found dead inside his crashed pickup truck.
Benjamin Jacobson, 22, was last seen on Feb. 8, at which point the Barron County, Wisconsin, Sheriff's Department asked for the public's help in finding him, noting he was last seen in a green 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
More than a week later, the sheriff's department said on Feb. 16 a homeowner on the west side of Silver reported a truck that was crashed on the shoreline of his property.
The sheriff's department and Wisconsin DNR officials, who were already searching the area for Jacobson, responded and discovered Jacobson's body in the truck, which had crashed into an embankment and brush.
Officials thanked all those who helped search for Jacobson, even as temperatures became dangerously cold.
According to the Rice Lake Chronotype, Jacobson on the night of Feb. 8 had been ice fishing on Silver Lake, where he lives with his father, who reported him missing Feb. 9 after not seeing or hearing from him, which was unusual.
