One person died over the weekend in an ATV crash in northern Minnesota.

The Itasca County Sheriff's Office reports that it responded to North Wasson Lake Road in rural Itasca County at 12 a.m. Saturday and found a young adult who had suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The ATV rider has been identified as 23-year-old Kyle Desmond Sagedahl of Bemidji. Sagedahl was airlifted via Life Link Helicopter to North Memorial Medical Center but did not survive his injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff's office says.
