26 percent of Minnesotans have high blood pressure, study says
The number of people in Minnesota with high blood pressure is below the national average, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
A national report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows one in three Americans has high blood pressure compared to 26 percent of Minnesotans, according to a MDH news release.
A health official tells MPR News that there are still too many Minnesotans with uncontrolled hypertension, a major contributor to heart attack and stroke.
The MDH blood pressure page offers information and steps to control high blood pressure.
