A second suspect is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of 24-year-old St. Paul mother Sarah Wierstad.

Albert George McIntosh, 30, was charged Monday with second-degree murder by the Ramsey County Attorney's Office. (Read the criminal complaint here.) Wierstad, mother to a 5-year-old daughter, was killed on Oct. 17 after coming home from work and apparently walking into a robbery.

McIntosh, of Minneapolis, had been identified in charges against other suspects only as "AB."

According to the criminal complaint filed against him, a woman in one of the two vehicles at the scene of the shooting told police she heard multiple gun shots that night while waiting in the car.

She heard a single shot, then saw Alvin Bell – also charged with second-degree murder – run around the corner and make it to a vehicle. At that point, she then heard additional shots, and saw McIntosh also come around the corner in a "half jog."

Wierstad was struck twice – once in the foot, and another that traveled through her arm and chest, striking her heart then exiting the other side.

Another suspect, Isaiah Lee Harper, was charged last week with first-degree aggravated robbery and burglary. According to the criminal complaint, he told police McIntosh and Bell had talked back and forth while Wierstad was on the ground outside her residence. As they went back to the vehicle, Harper said he could hear McIntosh say "Stay back. Stop following us," the complaint says.

Harper then got in a vehicle, "saw [McIntosh] go back," and then heard four or five shots, according to the charges. After McIntosh was arrested, he acknowledged knowing Bell and the woman, but said he didn't know anything about the killing.

A fund set up in Wierstad’s name has raised more than $24,000. Her funeral service was Friday, according to her obituary. In lieu of flowers, they'd requested a donation to the Julie Zietlow Fund for Aiyanna (c/o NSP Credit Union, 825 Rice St., St. Paul, MN 55117).
