A second suspect in the April 8 double homicide in North Minneapolis has been arrested, police said Sunday.

The 30-year-old Minneapolis man surrendered to investigators who worked with his family to make the arrest Saturday afternoon.

He has not been charged.

Brian Deshawn Morse, 21, from Chicago, was arrested last week and charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of 47-year-old Odell Frazier and 56-year-old Eddie Pelmore.

The two victims were sitting in a vehicle on the 4500 block of Penn Avenue North when police say two men approached them, and at least one of them fired several times before fleeing on foot.

The medical examiner said the victims died from gunshot wounds to the head.

Police have said the shooting doesn't appear to be random.

Minneapolis sees 7th homicide this year

Minneapolis police are also investigating the death of an adult woman who was found inside a home on the 2400 block of Portland Avenue South in the Phillips West neighborhood of south Minneapolis, officials said in a news release.

This is the seventh homicide in Minneapolis this year, the Star Tribune reports.

Police had responded to a report of shots being fired Saturday afternoon, and when they arrived they were met by a man who directed them to the deceased adult woman, police said.

Neighbors told the Star Tribune the victim, who hasn't been identified, didn't live at the home.

Investigators do not believe this was a random incident. As of Saturday night, no one had been taken into custody.

Police recently announced there would be extra patrols in south Minneapolis following a rise in gun violence in the past few weeks.

In the first four months of 2014, there had been nine homicides in Minneapolis, data show. In all of 2014, there were 32 homicides in the city, down from 40 in 2013.
