Police are investigating an overnight stabbing that left three people injured in Richfield.
According to Richfield Police Department, officers were called to an apartment at 701 77th Street East around 1:30 a.m. when neighbors reported hearing the sound of breaking glass, possible gunshots and someone yelling for help.
Upon arrival, police found three victims suffering from stab wounds "and/or cuts from broken glass." All three were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment of what police believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say at least two men broke into the apartment and assaulted the victims, then fled on foot before police arrived.
It's likely that the intruders knew at least one of the victims, police say, and it appears to be an isolated incident with no threat to the general public.
No other information is available as the investigation remains active.
