3 stabbed less than 90 minutes apart near downtown Minneapolis

Two women have been arrested.

Three stabbings just over an hour apart resulted in three injuries and two arrests Wednesday in Minneapolis.

The stabbings happened around the lunch hour, with the first being reported at 11:07 a.m. in Loring Park, where a man suffered a non-critical stabbing injury. The suspect fled the scene, but was arrested a short time later after a second stabbing.

At 11:13 a.m., the second stabbing was reported on the 100 block of Hennepin Ave. – about 16 blocks northeast of Loring Park – where another man sustained a survivable wound. This time, however, police were able to arrest a woman in connection to the attacks.

"Preliminary investigation yields that this was the same suspect as in the earlier stabbing," said MPD Director of Public Information John Elder.

A third stabbing at 12:21 p.m., unrelated to the first two, happened on the 100 block of W. Grant St. – just two blocks east of Loring Park – where a man was stabbed. The victim declined medical attention and a woman was arrested.

None of the victims or those arrested in the attacks have been identified.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated these events happened on Thursday, when they actually happened Wednesday. We apologize for the error.
