No one was injured when multiple trains were involved in a crash in St. Paul on Wednesday.
According to the NTSB, the collision involved a Canadian Pacific freight train, a Union Pacific freight train and a Burlington Northern Sante Fe train.
A spokesperson from Canadian Pacific confirmed that the crash happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday on the tracks near Warner Road and Childs Road. The impact of the crash resulted in three locomotives – two Canadian Pacific and one Union Pacific – and one BNSF lumber car derailing.
Audio from the incident posted to YouTube suggests that one of the trains ran a red light and collided with the others. The audio reveals one person saying "we just got hit by a train," with the individual later speculating "I think the CP must've blew a light and hit us."
The NTSB continues to investigate the collision.
