A 31-year-old Brooklyn Center man has been identified as the person who died in the pond at Loring Park in Minneapolis on Sunday.
The body of Charles Foreman was recovered from the pond after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
A man, now identified as Foreman, had been seen struggling in the water Sunday night when he went under and didn't resurface.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol responded to Loring Pond at 8:26 p.m. Sunday, Jeremy Zoss with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office told Bring Me The News. The Minneapolis Fire Department had attempted to help the person with a tube raft and saw him go underwater at about 8:33 p.m.
A dive team and officials with Ramsey County were called to the scene to help find the man. At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, officials located his body via sonar and then officials were able to recover it, Zoss said.
The medical examiner's report says the cause and manner of his death are pending further investigation.
