4 reasons why the Lynx can win their 4th WNBA title tonight

It all comes down to this: Can the Lynx tie a league record and capture their fourth WNBA title?

The Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks will square off at the Target Center Thursday night in the fifth and final game of the WNBA Finals.

If the Lynx pull off the win, it will be their fourth championship in the past six years.

Here are four reasons why the Lynx can add another championship to their dynasty.

1. Maya Moore

Throughout these Finals, Maya Moore is doing what she does the best and that's take over games. In Minnesota's Game 4 win Moore had 31 points, and she's led the Lynx in scoring in both of their victories this Finals.

Moore is averaging 22 points in seven playoff games while shooting over 50 percent from the floor, 95 percent from the free-throw line, and even pulling down 7 rebounds.

If the Lynx win it all, we can already guess who will win Finals MVP.

2. They can dominate the glass

Minnesota's presence on the glass was the X-factor in their Game 4 win, out-rebounding the Sparks 41-25.

Sylvia Fowles led the team in rebounds this season with 8.4 per game and was a monster in Game 4, with a game-high 13 rebounds with 8 of them coming on the offensive side.

In both of the Lynx's wins this Finals, they have out-rebounded the Sparks 87-57 – a telltale sign Minnesota must stay aggressive on the glass.

3. Home court is an advantage

The Target Center has provided the Lynx with an undeniable home court advantage. Throughout the regular season and playoffs, Minnesota has posted an 18-3 record in Minneapolis.

Yes, the Sparks took Game 1 – but closing out this series in a raucous and expected sold out Target Center is no easy task.

4. History is on Minnesota's side

The Lynx hosted Game 5 at the Target Center last year when they took home their third WNBA Title. Not to mention only one road team has ever won a Game 5 in the WNBA Finals.

A fourth WNBA championship for Minnesota would tie a league record with the Houston Comets. And with the Lynx winning last year, they would become the first team in 14 years to win back-to-back titles.
