4 things to know about Holidazzle if you're thinking about going

When it starts, how much it'll cost, what's to eat and drink, etc.

Hey, it's almost time for Holidazzle again.

Organizers Monday released the schedule, list of food and drinks, special events, and other highlights for this year's version of Minneapolis' winter market. Once again it will be held in Loring Park.

Here are four things worth knowing if you're thinking about going.

The days and times

Opening night for Holidazzle is Friday, Nov. 25 (so the day after Thanksgiving). From then on, it will run:

  • Thursdays: 5-9 p.m.
  • Fridays: 5-10 p.m.
  • Saturdays 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Sundays: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Opening night will include a big celebration at 6:30 p.m.

It will be free again

Holidazzle, for decades, was just a parade that ran through the frozen streets of downtown Minneapolis.

In 2014, they scrapped that concept and turned it into a European-style Christmas market ... but made people pay $3-$6 to get in to the market, where they could then spend more money on things.

People didn't like that, so in 2015 organizers scrapped the admission fee and moved the entire thing to Loring Park.

The free admission is coming back for 2016.

And on Saturdays you can get a free bus/light rail pass to travel there – it's available on the website.

Food, drinks, and an exclusive beer

There's a decent amount of food and drink available.

That includes a Hollidazzle-exclusive stout beer from Fulton Brewery, which is limited and will only last until it runs out. Sociable Cider Werks will be there with a mulled spiced cider.

Also available: Kramarczuk’s sausages, Pierogis Wonderland from Polish Bistro, cinnamon roasted nuts from Cindy's, mini donuts by Sweet Dreams Concessions, Spyhouse Coffee, and more. The full list of vendors is here.

Lots o' fireworks

The fireworks (which was a big hit previously) are back in full force. You'll get a show on specific weekend days (Nov. 25, Dec. 3, 10, 17 and
23) at 6:30 p.m.

For more entertainment, you've got two outdoor movies a week (including FrozenMiracleHome Alone, and others. The schedule is here.)

And there's free ice skating, visits with Santa Claus, bonfires, performances from local artists (you can sign up to perform here), and more.

Knitteapolis (who does yarn bombs) and Wolf and Moose (who did an exhibit over the summer that's being installed for Holidazzle) are among the art projects that organizers say will add to the ambience.
