41st homicide of 2020 in Minneapolis under investigation

The homicide total in Minneapolis this year is now at 41 after a shooting left one person dead Saturday evening. 

At 5:24 p.m., a 911 caller reported gunfire on the 1500 block of East 19th Street in south Minneapolis. Officers found a gunshot victim on the ground and immediately began lifesaving efforts until paramedics arrived. 

The victim, a man who has not been identified, was transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare in grave condition. He died a short time after arriving at the hospital, police said.
