A massive recall has been ordered by the Consumer Product Safety Commission after it was found that Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles pose a choking hazard.

The commission's recall notice says that there have been 149 reported instances of the water bottle spouts detaching, with 18 of the spouts winding up in the mouths of children.

The choking hazard prompted a recall of approximately 5.7 million bottles.

It's possible that the clear silicone spout can detach from bottles that were sold in four colors (solid color, graphics, stainless steel and stainless steel solid colors) and three sizes (13 oz., 14 oz., 20 oz.). The differentiating factor to see if a bottle is among those in the recall is if there is a black spout base and black spout cover.

The bottles were sold at Target, Walmart, Costco and other stores nationwide.

Anyone with a bottle in the recall should stop using it and make sure children can't get them.

Replacement bottles will be issued by calling Contigo at 888-262-0622 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, or online here
