Names of 17 accused priests released following last week’s settlement

Seventeen more priests have joined the list of those implicated in child sex abuse in the Twin Cities. The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, along with the lawyer representing victims of clergy abuse, released the names today. It’s part of a recent settlement between the archdiocese and the victims requiring the church to disclose names of clergy with legitimate sex abuse claims against them. The release brings the number of Twin Cities priests accused of molestation to 55. Ten of the 17 priests named today are dead.

Track listing for Cities 97 Sampler Vol. 26 revealed

The official track listing for the next volume of the perennially popular Cities 97 Sampler is out. “Cities 97 Sampler Vol. 26″ includes tracks from artists The 1975, Ingrid Michaelson, Ed Sheeran, Echosmith and Bleachers, among others. They will only be available in area Target stores and will go on sale at 8 a.m. on Nov. 20 at a price of $25.97.

Across America, porch lights left on in honor of Jacob Wetterling

Lots of porch lights were left on overnight. It was the 25th anniversary of Jacob Wetterling’s abduction. The Stearns County sheriff was among those asking residents to make a gesture on behalf of Jacob and other missing children. Law enforcement officers say the passage of time has not diminished their determination to learn what happened to him. Wetterling’s parents said they were spending the evening with friends and family, sharing laughter, tears, and memories of Jacob

Teens shot at, assaulted by mob in South St. Paul

Two teens were attacked and shot at by a South St. Paul mob over the weekend. The victims told police they were walking near strip mall on Sunday evening when a group of at least a dozen attacked them. One of the victims said the two were punched, kicked, physically hit with a firearm, and robbed before they ran to safety. Two teens, ages 14 and 15, have been arrested and police are looking for additional suspects.

Grab a fork: Record number of Twin Cities restaurants opened this year

Hopefully you’re hungry – the Twin Cities has a bevy of new restaurants to try. Reports say there has been an unprecedented boom in metro-area restaurants this year totaling 91 new openings, with 42 more in the works. Most are independently owned, not chains. At the same time, about two dozen restaurants have closed, but most have been replaced by new eateries.
