5 injured in Forest Lake fire; child jumps from 2nd floor to escape

Four children and a woman were all taken to a hospital for care.

Four children and a woman were injured in a fire in Forest Lake on Friday. 

The scene of the fire – on the 800 block of 12th Street Southwest – saw one child rescued from the second floor by a neighbor and a Forest Lake police officer, and another child jumping from a second-story window to escape the blaze. 

The four kids and the woman were all taken to a hospital for treatment, though the severity of their injuries was not released by Forest Lake Fire Department. 

One police officer was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. 

Forest Lake Fire Department said the fire was contained to one unit. The 800 block of 12th Street Southwest is home to townhome and apartments. 

No further information has been released.
