Five people were injured with gunshot wounds – one critically – after an incident in north Minneapolis on Thursday afternoon.

Minneapolis police say they were called to the area of 34th Avenue North and Girard Avenue North at around 4:45 p.m. to reports of multiple shots fired.

When they got there, four victims were found on the scene. They were all taken to a hospital by ambulance, with the fifth victim showing up at hospital later.

Four of the victims have non-life-threatening injuries, but one is in a critical condition.

Minneapolis PD spokesperson Sgt. Darcy Horn said there appears to have been an argument among group of people that then turned physical, before shots were fired.

Police conducted an extensive investigation at the scene and have canvassed the area, but at this stage no suspects have been arrested.
