5-vehicle crash in east-central Minnesota leaves 1 dead, 1 critical
One person was killed and another suffered life-threatening injuries in a five-vehicle crash on Highway 65 in east-central Minnesota Friday evening.
According to the State Patrol, the driver of a Ford Escape was traveling west on Heritage Blvd. in Isanti and was approaching a red light at the intersection of Hwy. 65 when they rear-ended a Dodge Durango.
The Durango was pushed into a Buick LeSabre, while the Ford Escape rolled and collided with a Chevy Equinox, which in turn was pushed into a Honda Accord.
The passenger in the Ford Escape, identified as 75-year-old Cheryl Rose Thull, of Braham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 78-year-old Arnold Joseph Thull, of Bethel, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin Healthcare in the Twin Cities for treatment.
None of the drivers of the four other vehicles were injured.
