5-year-old missing Minneapolis girl found safe, police say

Police in Minneapolis are looking for help locating a 5-year-old girl who has been taken by her non-custodial mother.

The girl, named Naila, was taken from her home on the 3100 block of Cedar Avenue South, where she lives with her custodial father.

Minneapolis police says she was with her father when Serenity Joy Jones, 28, forced entry to the apartment with an unknown male, grabbed Naila and fled in an unknown vehicle.

Naila has brown eyes, black hair, and was last seen wearing blue shorts and a purple t-shirt. Serenity, 28 years old, 5’ 5”, 166 lbs and has brown eyes.

Anyone with information should call 911. Minneapolis PD says it is concerned for Naila's welfare.
