$5K reward to find the driver who did doughnuts on a golf green
Someone used their vehicle to destroy a golf green in western Minnesota Friday night – and now the Wheaton Country Club is offering a reward for information on who did it.
The Traverse County Sheriff's Office called the damage to the course "devastating" in a post on Facebook Saturday.
Photos included with the post show circular tread marks and ripped up grass on the first green of the nine-hole public course.
Gary Laines, the former superintendent at the facility, told the Star Tribune the green has been reseeded and a temporary green has been created.
Wheaten Country Club is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
If anyone has information on the incident, they're asked to contact Deputy Darrel Thompson at 320-422-7800.
