Interstate 90 was closed for several hours after a fatal crash that has left six people dead.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. in Olmsted County near Eyota, southeast of Rochester.
The State Patrol says preliminary reports indicate that one of the vehicles involved was going the wrong-way, heading eastbound, when it struck another car going westbound.
The two vehicles involved were a 2005 Chrysler Sebring and a 2008 Ford Focus with three people in each of then.
"Investigators are still trying to determine which vehicle was going in the wrong direction," the State Patrol says.
I-90 is now back open in both directions.
KAAL notes that at least one person had to be extricated from their vehicle, while one of the vehicles caught fire.
