A 62-year-old man died after the side-by-side ATV he was operating went off the road, struck a culvert and flew into the air.
The crash happened around 7:26 p.m. Sunday near County Road 42 and Clear Lake Road in Farming Township, about 15 miles west of St. Cloud, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies found that Robert Dingmann of Richmond, Minnesota, had been operating the 2019 Polaris Ranger at the time of the crash. He " left the roadway on the left side of the road, struck a culvert, and became airborne," the sheriff's office said.
Dingmann was not wearing a seat belt and was "partially ejected" from the side-by-side, the sheriff's office added.
He was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where he later died.
The crash is being investigated.
