KSTP is reporting an 80-foot-long privately owned cruise liner was spotted sinking in the St. Croix River Friday morning.

A witness told the television station that workers were putting barriers around the boat docked in Hudson, Wis. to prevent gas from leaking.

KARE 11 reports the boat is 60-feet long, and two of the boat's three stories are underwater.

The owner of Hudson-Afton Cruise Lines, where the boat is docked, discovered the situation Friday morning around 4 a.m. and immediately called the owners and an environmental company, according to KARE. Not known what made it sink.

It's unclear if anyone was on board when the boat began going underwater.
