The Anoka County Sheriff's Office is investigating two reports of sexual assault involving a former staff member of Anoka Middle School for the Arts, and is hoping more people who are victims of sexual assault will come forward.
The sheriff's office received a report on June 25 that nine years ago, a student, who is now an adult, was sexually assaulted by a male staff member at the school, a news release says.
It is also investigating a second report of sexual assault by the same suspect on a different victim. That incident reportedly happened in 2019.
Meanwhile, the sheriff's office has received "additional information that has been seen on social media regarding possible sexual assaults on different victims by the same suspect" but much of it has not been reported to law enforcement.
The sheriff's office did not name the suspect, who is no longer with the Anoka Middle School for the Arts, but police are encouraging victims of sexual assault related to this suspect or any other suspect to report it.
Victims in Anoka County can call 763-427-1212 to report a sexual assault.
The sheriff's office says these investigations are ongoing and no other information will be released.
