A giant hot dog is one of the Walker's mini golf holes this year – and it'll be on the roof

Mini golf is coming back to the Walker Art Center, and this year's games will be held on the rooftop.

Skyline Mini Golf 2016 features nine unique, artist-designed golf holes, including a giant hot dog, a chicken coop maze, and an Andy Warhol-themed hole made out of Brillo boxes.

The course's designs have been featured in previous seasons, but the new location will offer views of the Minneapolis skyline, the Walker said on Facebook.

The event runs from May 26 to Sept. 7 – adult tickets are $12, or $9 for Walker members and children ages 6-12.

Tee times are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

The course will be open late on Thursdays, until 9 p.m.

Hit a hole-in-one and then see an exhibit for free – every ticket includes free gallery admission.

Additional pricing and discounts can be found on their website.

Why has the course been moved from the ground to the rooftop?

The sculpture garden is closed for renovation, the Walker said in a press release Monday, meaning the mini golf couldn't happen in the normal spot.

Nearly all of the sculptures, (except for the famous "Spoonbridge and Cherry," and a couple others) went into storage for the garden's major upgrade.

"After 26 years and more than 9 million visitors, the Garden’s infrastructure needs to be reconstructed in a sustainable manner to serve visitors now and for generations to come," the Walker's website says.

When the garden opens back up in June 2017, it will feature 16 new artworks – including this giant blue chicken.
