The tot whose battle against cancer – and superhero persona – inspired countless people will be laid to rest Thursday morning.

2-year-old Victor Skaro, better known as "Valiant Vito," died last week due to medical complications he'd suffered during prep for a stem cell transplant. Months earlier, a successful surgery to remove a brain tumor and his penchant for wearing capes made him an Internet sensation.

As a tribute to his superhero persona, Vito's parents are encouraging people to "wear your capes, wear your costumes, bring your captain American shields and Thor hammers" to the funeral, which will be held at the St. Victoria Catholic Church in Victoria, Minnesota at 11 a.m., according to a Facebook announcement.

The post makes it clear that "Vito's life was and is a celebration," adding, "We strongly encourage running, jumping, giggling and pretend play and that's from the adults. Children are encouraged to do more."

"Everyone is welcome," the family said.

The post has been shared over 1,500 times.

The burial will take place at Waconia's Laketown Cemetary at 2:30 p.m.

Vito suffered from medulloblastoma, a highly aggressive and "fast-moving" brain tumor, according to the American Brain Tumor Association.
