After flooding, small towns suffer

The city of Duluth grabbed headlines following flooding that surged across northeast Minnesota nearly three weeks ago. But several small towns just to the southwest suffered some of the most extensive damage and are struggling to rebuild.

While the city of Duluth got most of the media coverage in the wake of recent record rain and flooding, a string of small towns also suffered mightily and residents fear they may be forgotten, MPR reports.

Damage estimates continue to rise in especially hard-hit Carlton County, WDIO reports.

Meanwhile, the city of Duluth, Ga., is planning to help Duluth, Minn., the Gwinnett Daily Post reports.

NWS: Small chance of "major" Red River flooding
