Members of Black Lives Matter-St. Paul will be attending a Falcon Heights City Council meeting Wednesday, a night after holding a protest in downtown St. Paul.

The city council is holding a workshop from 6:30 p.m. that will discuss a proposed "Inclusion and Policing Task Force" across the cities of St. Anthony, Lauderdale and Falcon Heights, which according to its agenda would review police policies, procedures and training.

It comes two months after Philando Castile was fatally shot by a St. Anthony police officer during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights, which it is claimed happened while he was trying to pull out his permit-to-carry license.

In an event listing on the Black Lives Matter St. Paul Facebook page, the group says: "The Falcon Heights City Council will be addressing the murder of Philando Castile and their contract with the St. Anthony Police Department.

"If you want justice; I urge you to show up with us. Make your voices heard."

The protest group held a demonstration in downtown St. Paul on Tuesday night, the two-month anniversary of Castile's death, during which KARE 11 reports one person was arrested.

Protesters gathered outside City Hall and blocked traffic on Kellogg Boulevard and Wabasha Street just before 5:30 p.m., the TV station notes. The man was arrested for making terroristic threats.

Black Lives Matter has previously called on Falcon Heights City Council to drop its contract with St. Anthony police.
