Alcohol may be a factor in crash that killed teen

State troopers suspect alcohol may have been a factor in a weekend rollover crash that killed a Credit River Township teenager and left two men injured.

The Associated Press reports that Jordan Reigh Huver, 18, died of head injuries sustained in the crash. Patch reported that the State Patrol said the driver of the 2005 Honda Civic was Tyler D. Henry, 29, of Lakeville. He was hurt but his injury isn't considered life-threatening. Another passenger, Quinten D. Watkins, 26, of Lonsdale also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

WCCO Radio reported that the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. early Saturday in the northbound lane of Interstate 35 near Elko, south of the Twin Cities. According to the State Patrol, alcohol was detected on all three people involved in the crash.

“We are investigating the role that alcohol may have played, but it really is a microcosm of what we talk about every day with not drinking and driving, importance of seat belt use, you know all those things we try to enforce every day,” the Minnesota State Patrol's Eric Roeske told the station.

The roads were wet at the time of the crash.
