Altercation at Dinkytown bar leads to deadly fight near TCF Bank Stadium

The other person involved in the fight was arrested.

Minneapolis police are investigating a fight outside of TCF Bank Stadium that left one man dead Sunday night. 

Police say they were called to a scene in the area of SE University Ave. and Oak Street at 11:02 p.m. Sunday on the report of a fight. Two men were believed to be involved, with one taken into custody and the other transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with critical injuries that proved fatal. 

An investigation revealed that the men encountered each other inside Sally's Saloon in Dinkytown, which is just down the street from where the altercation became physical. 

Homicide detectives are investigating but anyone with information is asked to provide anonymous tips to CrimeStoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477. Anonymous tips can also be texted to 847411. Enter "MPD" followed by a space and then text details you'd like to share.
