Amazon has announced a hiring spree ahead of the holiday season, which includes 1,000 seasonal roles in Minnesota.

The retail giant is hiring 100,000 across the country in anticipation of a bumper festive season, as more consumers do their shopping online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amazon has a significant presence in Minnesota, including its fulfillment centers in Eagan and Shakopee.

It's offering seasonal workers $15-an-hour wages, as well as "benefits, and a path to a longer-term career."

Furthermore, there may be bonus holiday incentives, with jobs available in various capacities, including its shipping, packing, delivery, HR, and IT departments.

There are more jobs available in Shakopee at Adecco, which is hiring 300 seasonal positions at its Shutterfly facility.

Job fairs will be held at 5005 Dean Lakes Blvd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
