Amazon will give $100 to new hires who are fully vaccinated against COVID
Amazon says it plans to hire at least 75,000 new workers across the U.S. and Canada, including 1,300 full- and part-time workers in the Twin Cities metro area.
And the eCommerce giant is offering $100 to every new hire who has already been vaccinated for COVID-19, so long as they show proof of vaccination, a news release says.
The 1,300 new hires will expand Amazon's footprint in the state even further. (It recently announced a new facility in St. Cloud set to open later this year.) The open roles include a starting wage of at least $17 an hour, plus sign-on bonuses for many positions of up to $1,000, as well as other benefits.
“We look forward to hiring 75,000 associates across our fulfillment and transportation network,” said Alicia Boler Davis, vice president of Global Customer Fulfillment at Amazon. “Working at Amazon also comes with an unwavering commitment to safety, especially as we continue to navigate a global pandemic. In addition to the great pay and robust benefits available to new hires starting on their first day, we’re offering a $100 benefit to new hires who come to Amazon already vaccinated for COVID-19.”
Minnesota is among the states with the most job openings, the release says. Amazon's jobs website is here.
