Anoka woman killed in head-on crash in Wright County

An Elk River man was arrested for probable cause criminal vehicular operation.

One person is dead following a head-on crash in Otsego, with the driver of a vehicle involved arrested for probable cause criminal vehicular operation. 

According to the Wright County Sheriff's Office, the four-vehicle crash happened around 8:20 a.m. Friday on County Road 39 Northeast, near the intersection of Page Avenue Northeast. 

An investigation revealed that a 26-year-old Elk River man driving east on County Road 39 crossed the center line and hit the side mirror of a westbound vehicle, before colliding head-on with another westbound vehicle.

A fourth vehicle then rear-ended the car that was hit head-on. 

The driver of the vehicle that was hit head-on died in the crash, and has been identified as Sharon Veiman, 62, of Anoka.

The Elk River man was arrested and booked into the Wright County Jail for probable cause of criminal vehicular operation. 

A child in the fourth vehicle was transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The Wright County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who witness the crash to contact them at 763-682-1162.
