Another conservative group believes it experienced extra IRS scrutiny

A second Minnesota group believes it was targeted for extra scrutiny by the IRS because of its conservative positions.

Dan McGrath, President of Minnesota Majority, told MPR that the IRS contacted the group in March as part of a compliance check. McGrath said information the IRS sought is similar to what other conservative and Tea Party groups who believe they were targeted were asked to provide.

A member of the Rochester Tea Party Patriots also told MPR that the group believes it was subjected to additional scrutiny.

U. S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, chairwoman of the Tea Party caucus, issued a statement calling the IRS scrutiny of Tea Party groups and affiliates a “stunning abuse of power.”

The Justice Department announced a probe into the IRS's dealings with conservative groups.
