Election Day is Nov. 8, but that will be here before you know it. So if you haven't already, register to vote.

The video above will walk you through the process.

Now there are some requirements to vote. You have to be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age by Nov. 8, a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days, and finished with any felony sentences you may have.

If you meet those qualifications, you're ready to register.

You can start by visiting GoVoteMN.

At the top of the screen, you'll have the option to check whether or not you're registered to vote. If you aren't, go ahead and click the tab to register.

That will take you to the Secretary of State's website.

There, you will have the option to register online or via mail.

Regardless of which you choose, the process is pretty much the same – you just don't have to mail anything in if you register online.

Is there a deadline?

Yes. If you want to register via mail or online, you have to do it by Oct. 18.

If you forget, it's not the end of the world. You can still vote. You just have to register on Election Day at your area polling place.

To find your polling place, click here.

What about early voting?

If you want to vote early with an absentee ballot, that's a different story.

You can register using the method above, but you don't have to.

You have the option to vote early in person or by mail.

Either way, early voting starts 45 days prior to the election, so Sept. 23.

If you want to vote absentee by mail, you'll need to apply here to have a ballot sent to you. Just be sure to get it back in time to be counted in the elections.

If you want to vote early in person, you'll just have to find a polling place that offers early voting.

You can find that by clicking here.
