Armed robbers wearing masks held two people captive for an hour while they ransacked their home and adjoining business.

Waite Park Police said the ordeal happened just before midnight Thursday, when two men forced their way into the home on the 1500 block of County Road 137.

They were armed with handguns and held the two residents of the property captive while they robbed their home.

The intruders then forced open a door into a business adjoined to the house, which activated an alarm.

The suspects took an undetermined amount of jewelry and cash, police said.

Police were told the men wore masks and other clothing to conceal their identity, but one is described as 5'8 to 5'9 and weighing 250 lbs. The other was about 6' tall with a thin build.
