The 20-year-old man suspected of assaulting his girlfriend then evading police capture in a Roseville commercial building Friday later turned himself in to police, the Roseville Police Department announced.

The department says the suspect turned himself in to St. Paul police at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, but offered no other details.

Police were first called to the scene Friday morning, after reports the St. Paul man physically assaulted his girlfriend and displayed a gun to others at the Residence Inn hotel in Roseville, the department said in a news release.

The department had asked for the public's help locating the St. Paul man, who was considered armed and dangerous, after a three-hour search of the Roseville Symantec Software Corporation Friday turned up nothing, FOX 9 reports. Police said there were outstanding warrants for the suspect's arrest – he was wanted for felony terrorist threats and domestic assault, as well as some other misdemeanor warrants.

According to the release:

The victim and witnesses said the man fled through the hotel. As officers began their search, Symantec employees reported the suspect may have entered their two-story building without authorization. Another employee said the suspect borrowed his phone, and was seen walking along a nearby pathway.

The department ordered the buildings be locked down, and told all employees and guests to leave or shelter in place.

Police searched the Symantec building for three hours, beginning at about 11:30 a.m., but found no evidence the suspect had entered.

Police at the time told the public to stay away from the 2900 block of Center Pointe Drive. A Courtyard Marriot hotel and several other businesses are in the area.

The suspect has not yet been charged. WCCO reports the Ramsey County Attorney's Office will consider charges next week.
