IS claims American hostage was killed in airstrike

The Islamic State says American Kayla Mueller, held hostage by the militant group, was killed when a Jordanian airstrike destroyed the building she was being held in. But at this point, IS has not offered proof the American aid worker has died.

US jobs report one of the best in years

Employment figures released by the United States Friday show some of the strongest gains in years. That includes a 0.5 percent increase in average hourly earnings (the most since late 2008) and an increase of 257,000 jobs. One economist called the numbers "amazing."
