French police fired thousands of bullets in Paris anti-terror operation

French authorities report that officers fired nearly 5,000 bullets in a raid that quashed a terrorist operation in the Saint-Denis suburb just days after the attacks that struck Paris. Officers ultimately arrested eight people, while two others – including a suicide bomber – were killed.

Syrians caught trying to sneak into U.S. with stolen passports

Amid fears of terrorist agents using fake passports to gain entry into western countries, police officials in Honduras are reporting that they've detained five Syrian nationals using stolen Greek passports to travel to the United States. However, the suspects do not appear to have any connection to the terror attacks in Paris.

Ex-football star's parents die within one hour of each other

Doug Flutie, a former NFL and Canadian Football League player, says his parents, Dick and Joan Flutie, both died of heart attacks within an hour of one another. He said his father had been ill and in the hospital when he died, and that his mother's heart attack occurred suddenly an hour later. "They say you can die of a broken heart and I believe it," he wrote on Facebook.
