Here’s a brief look at some of the top news stories around the world for June 26, 2015.

Supreme Court: States must allow same-sex marriage

States can not ban same-sex marriage, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision Friday morning in a landmark decision for gay rights in the country. Hundreds gathered at the steps of the Supreme Court to celebrate. But opponents, including some Republican presidential candidates, quickly expressed disagreement with the decision.

Terror attacks in France, Kuwait, Tunisia

Violent attacks struck three different countries Friday. In France, a man was beheaded at a U.S.-owned gas factory, and authorities believe the attackers intended to set off an explosion. Two others were also injured.

In Tunisia, at least 36 people were killed when gunmen attacked a beachfront hotel.

And in Kuwait, at least 25 people died when a bomb exploded at a mosque in the capital during Friday prayers.

Report of self-driving cars having 'close call' was out of context

Earlier this week, a Reuters reports said a self-driving car from Google had a "close call" with a self-driving car from Delphi Automotive in California. But a Delphi spokesperson says it was taken out of context, and a Google spokesperson said the cars did what they were supposed to do.
