FBI will investigate South Carolina deputy in viral classroom video

State and federal authorities will investigate a Richland County Sheriff's deputy and Spring Valley High School resource officer who was shown in a smartphone video forcibly removing a black female student from her desk and apparently throwing her across the floor. Reports say he had been asked to escort her from the classroom.

China: U.S. vessels illegally entered our waters

A U.S. warship has been "monitored" and "warned" following its incursion into an area China claims as its territory, Chinese officials said Tuesday. The area in question is a group of artificial islands the Asian country began building last year. With such islands not necessarily recognized under international law, the U.S. says its missions in the area will continue.
